It should be added that the number of births to mothers of Haitian nationality during the period from January to May 2023 was 14,745, reflecting an increase of 905 births (equivalent to 9.1%) compared to the same period in 2022.
In 2022, during the first five months, the total number of births in the public health network was 44,966, of which 13,840 were to Haitian mothers, accounting for 30.8%.
